Happiness is....

A day of gratitude, a lifetime of thanks. After a long journey of 8 iui's, 3 failed ivf attempts, countless doctor's visits and injections, here we are all smiles for finally making it to our first egg retrieval.

Getting ready for the OR. I am a ball of mixed emotions of hope and fear.

After my IV was removed and I woke up, Mark was excited to tell me that the doctor was able to retrieve 8 eggs (we were told to expect 4). I think I asked if I grew a third ovary when I was under :).

After 3 days in the lab, 4 of our eggs matured and 3 fertilized normally.

The embryos were graded. One of our babies was a perfect 8 cell with little to no fragmentation. I laid a golden egg :D.

Our babies hung out in their little embryo apartment at the Cleveland Clinic while mommy & daddy footed the steep bill for such a small dish. On 11/16/10, we transferred all three :D.

The day before Thanksgiving, we were filled with so much joy, happiness, gratitude, and love than we ever thought possible. We finally did it! Pinch us, two lines = PREGNANT!!!!!! Our first beta came in at a whopping 1,173.

Our first ultrasound at 7 wks, one little bean sprout with a flickering heartbeat. We laughed, we cried, we high fived, and then Mark did a happy dance :D.

Our baby at 9 weeks, with a strong heartbeat at 176! Grow baby grow!

Here I am at 12 weeks with a little bump ;D. My new nickname is piggly-wiggly! Thank you everyone (all of our family and friends) who have been with us throughout this journey. And to my amazing husband, I love you more than anything in this world. You are my best friend and I can not wait to see you holding our baby in your arms. Here's to the wide open amazing road that lies ahead!
